Beginning July 1, 2015, the regular price for a meal delivered by Chambersburg Meals on Wheels will drop from $3.85 to $3.50. The reason for this, says spokesman Roland Foster, a member of the MOW Board of Directors, is "Because we can. We want to provide meals as reasonably as we can. It actually costs more than thaat to produce each meal, but we are a 501(c)(3) charity, and contributions from generous donors allow us to keep the price down." Meals are also available at even lower rates for those with limited means.

Every weekday* we prepare and deliver more than 100 hot, nutritious midday meals to homebound convalescent, elderly, and handicapped residents of Chambersburg and Fayetteville. We place each meal in a special three-part tray, top-sealed with plastic, so the client can eat the meal right away or reheat it later if desired.

And we deliver more than meals. For many of our clients, the Meals On Wheels volunteer driver's arrival with a friendly smile, a kind word, and a good hot meal is the high point of a lonely day.

Our paid staff of two (Head Cook and Client Administrator), our 200+ volunteers, and our Board of Directors are dedicated to providing high quality meals at a reasonable cost to folks who need them in our area. If you need meals or want to help, check out the rest of this web site.
